Meet Dr. Lexi
My Story
Lexi Welanetz-Bursin, Psy.D. (PSY16306) is in private practice to assist individuals and couples in coping with the complex issues they face today.
Since becoming licensed as a clinical psychologist in 1999, I have gained experience through my work as well as life. Early in my career, I developed a particular interest in working with adult individuals and couples. To pursue this, I attended intensive workshops with both Dr. David Schnarch and Dr. Sue Johnson to further hone my skills as a couples counselor, as well as to better understand the complex challenges in all relationships and facilitate better communication. In addition to working in private practice, I worked at Cedars-Sinai for ten years on the inpatient psychiatric hospital units working with clients in crisis as they struggled with addiction, trauma, suicidal ideation, eating disorders, mood disorders and chronic mental illness. In 2005, I opened the Family Resource Counseling Center where I held the position as Director working with interns and supervisors to provide counseling to individuals, couples and families in a group practice. In 2015, I moved into solo private practice to focus my attention more closely on my clients and their needs, pursue my own passions, as well as devote more time to my family.

Are You Ready To Transform Your Life?
HOW IT WORKS

Often people put off dealing with problems and issues they are facing with the hope they just might go away. Unfortunately, this is not a very effective way to manage stress in your life. Going to a therapist can be thought of like going to see a personal trainer at the gym vs. going to the gym on your own. When you go on your own you know that you’ll probably get a decent workout. BUT, if you meet with a personal trainer, you know they are going to push you and challenge you in ways you might never have considered…only accelerating your development. That’s my job too! I am here to challenge you and support you to live the life that you were meant to live.
Individual Counseling
Adversity can be like the sand in the oyster. While we may feel the challenges we face are unfair, unacceptable or just plain frustrating, it is how we tackle them that matters.
Couples Counseling
Unfortunately, many couples put off seeking counseling until there’s a crisis. So often, I have found couples often don’t even know why they’re fightin
DUI Evaluations
For nearly 20 years, I have been conducting DUI valuations. They are an important asset in a legal proceeding when you have been charged with driving under the influence.
Qualified Medical Examiner
As part of the forensic work that I have been involved in over the years, I have become certified as a Qualified Medical Examiner (QME) with the Division of Workers’ Compensation.
